Of the three formats available, this is the most important and effective service we offer. It includes everything from the first two course and then really gets interesting!
The decide to shift weekend is designed for any couple in a committed relationship. It is structured in such a way that it will strengthen existing relationships and help to repair distressed ones.
Through engaging presentations and experiential activities (both individual and group), couples will develop tools to foster effective communication, build trust and release past hurts and resentments. The techniques incorporate behavior styles, emotional intelligence, mindfulness and an understanding of the masculine/feminine energies we each possess. Participants will examine how their thoughts, habits and patterns of dialogue influence their lives and relationships.
These activities provide a framework for eliminating toxic and hurtful behaviors as well as strengthening supportive and loving behaviors.

when to do this workshop
There is a Chinese proverb that says: the two best times to plant a tree are twenty years ago and now.
If you’re in a new relationship and want to plot a course for a life of love, laughter and companionship, then this course is for you. It is an investment in you, in your partner, in your life.
Perhaps you are already in a relationship. You wish things were better. If you answer yes, to any of these questions, this course is also for you:
- Has your relationship lost its ‘spark’?
- Is your relationship ‘too much work’?
- Do you feel as if you can’t say or do anything without your partner getting angry, hurt or defensive?
- Even though you are in a relationship, do you feel lonely?

not sure it’s for you?
This workshop is designed for couples in committed monogamous relationships. It is open to couples of all ages, sexual orientations and religious beliefs. Your relationship might be strong, neutral or in distress; in each case you will gain insights, develop new relationship techniques and learn strategies to strengthen your connection.
This workshop is not solely focused on keeping couples together; in some cases, a couple may determine that separation (permanent or temporary) is a more desirable solution. In that case, we work to enable couples to engage in amicable and supportive separations. NOTE: this workshop is not suitable for couples dealing with addiction, domestic violence, or other serious relationship issues. In those situations, we recommend seeking counseling through a licensed counselor or therapist. This workshop is not faith-based in any way; however, we do encourage spirituality and the exploration of our spiritual selves.

I’m still not sure what to expect
Prior to the workshop: we will ask you to complete a short (10-question) behavior survey and a brief relationship questionnaire. We want to know a little about you as an individual and as a couple prior to the workshop so that we can prepare the best experience for you.
During the workshop:The workshop requires commitment on an individual level and as a couple. This means being open and honest with your partner and engaging with the facilitators. The workshop is hands on, meaning you will work on yourself and your relationship.
There are individual, couple and group based processes. We cover relationship habits, an exploration of the masculine and feminine, communication techniques that go beyond listening skills and much more. In a respectful and conscious way, we also touch on sex and intimacy.
Outcome:
Decide to shift.
Typically, the change required is small.
Knowing what to change and how to change it, is important.
But having a clear, actionable plan to sustain it, is the key.
We will help you figure out what all this means for you. You will develop a 90 day plan to ensure that what you start over the weekend is integrated into your life for long lasting change.
Our goal for the weekend is to guide you and your partner through the process of learning how to
- build respect for yourselves and one another
- foster genuine affection
- re-discover a sense of closeness in your relationship
- develop the skills to keep discussions calm and respectful
- build and manage emotional intelligence
- solidify your relationship moving forward.
Our strategy is to empower you to have a strong, meaningful and connected relationship using clear and uncomplicated techniques.

Privacy
You choose what to share and with whom. Nobody is forced to divulge intimate information. As the workshop is of a personal nature, we do work to create a safe environment. This means that couples or individuals who choose to share information, do so with a pre-agreement of privacy from fellow participants and the facilitators. Group work is typically more general in nature.
